hey guys this is alex today we are makinga lovely and easy ratatouille which is perfect to get the kids to eat their veg ra ta touilleratatouille is a french vegetable stew which is tasty colourful and so easy to make wellsometimes making a ratatouille can be a bit tricky cos you have to cook all the veg separatelyrespect all the stages but you know what at the end it's just a humble stew and i wannakeep it that way let's make a simplified version
how to make french toast, of the mighty ratatouille this recipe serves4-6 people first off prepare all your ingredients before you start 2 red onions peel and cutthe onions into wedges then peel and finely slice 4 cloves of garlic 2 aubergines 3 courgettes3 bell peppers trim the aubergines and courgettes de-seed the peppers and chop in to 2.5 centimeterchunks six ripe tomatoes roughly chop the tomatoes
half a bunch of fresh basil pick the basilleaves and set aside then finely slice the stalks good to know the word itself ratatouillecomes from the occitan language and just means mixed stew so you don't have to make it poshit's already a popular and humble dish heat two tablespoons of oil in a large saucepanon a medium heat add the chopped aubergines courgettes and peppers and fry for about 5minutes or until golden and softened and cook through if your saucepan is too small thenyou can do it in several batches spoon the veg in to a large bowl and in the same panadd the onion, garlic and basil stalks and thyme leaves fry for ten to fifteen minutesor until softened and golden now return the cooked veg to the pan and stir in the freshand tinned tomatoes add basil leaf vinegar
a good pinch of sea salt and some freshlyground black pepper at this stage you have two options the more you mix it the more silkyit will be at the end the less you mix it the more pretty it will be at the end itsa tough choice really simmer over a low heat for 30 to 35 minutes or until reduced at theend it should be sticky and sweet tear in the basil leaves and finely grate in the lemonzest and adjust the seasoning you can serve it with steamed rice or in my case with ahunk of bread when you taste it you have all those different flavours in your mouth it'stasty it's tangy it's sweet it's silky yet it's nice to have the texture of some vegso guys that's it i hope you like this video and if you did then give it a thumbs up likeit and share it all over on your social media
